Help Videos for EMSTesting!!

We have heard from our customers they would like some easy to access help videos. So we added them to the site.

Located in EMSTesting within the School Admin, Instructor and Student role below the messages section. You can click the new links guiding you to the Help Videos.

Scenario Updates!

To make the scenario process slightly faster, we implemented a new button for approval. It’s called Approve and Set Categories.

Now if you select that button, you will be brought to the page that allows you to set student categories allowing them to sign up for opportunities matching those categories.
Yeah, that is the same as it has been.

But, we added another button called Approve. That one will bypass the categories page. One less click.
Also, we changed how Reject functions as it used to go to the categories page as well. Now it doesn’t. It also bypasses that page.

One last thing is after you set categories during the finalization process of a scenario. Those can’t be selected again on the finalize page. You will have to turn them off, if needed, in Manage My Students or Manage Student Categories.

Help Videos!!

We have heard from our customers they would like some easy to access help videos. So we added them to the site.

Located in Platinum Planner within the School Admin, Instructor and Student role where it says Getting started in the center of the screen. You can click the new tab Help Videos.
Then select the link where you believe the help video can be located. There is usually more than one video per showcase link.

School Admin Instructor Permissions

This is a pretty huge update. But school administrators can navigate to Manage Users/Requests. Click on Manage Instructors and either create or edit an instructor.

If you create an instructor, you will see the New Permissions field to toggle areas you would like the instructor to have access to.

If you Edit an instructor, you will see a Permissions tab up top and modify the access the instructor has.

Here is a list of these options:

Student Access –

  • Manage Categories: Disables/Enables Manage Student Categories from Menu bar and Categories link from Manage Students. Instructors cannot set Categories for students.
  • Manage Location Access: Disables/Enables Access link from Manage Students
  • Flag/Unflag: Disables/Enables the ability to flag or unflag a student in Manage Students
  • Login As: Disables/Enables the ability to Login As a student in Manage Students

Preceptor Access –

  • Manage: Disables/Enables Editing and Creating of Preceptors in Manage Preceptors. Also Disables/Enables the Verify link in Manage Preceptors
  • Training: Disables/Enables Manage Preceptor Training from Menu bar. Also Disables/Enables Training Fields when Editing a preceptor
  • Flag/Unflag: Disables/Enables the ability to flag or unflag a preceptor in Mange Preceptors
  • Login As: Disables/Enables the ability to Login As a preceptor in Manage Preceptors

Opportunity Access –

  • Manage: Disables/Enables the ability to create or edit opportunities and batches of opportunities in Manage Opportunities
  • Batch Edit: Disables/Enables the ability to Batch Edit batches of opportunities in Manage Opportunities
  • Add/Remove Students: Disables/Enables the ability to Modify Students in Manage Opportunities and in Edit on an individual opportunity
  • Opportunity Requests: Disables/Enables the ability to accept/reject opportunity enrollment requests. Also Disables/Enables the link Manage Opportunity Requests
  • Review: Disables/Enables the ability to review student opportunity documentation in Manage Student Documentation as the option will be removed from the menu bar. If Disabled, this will disable Approve/Reject/Return as well
  • Approve/Reject/Return: Disables/Enables the ability to Approve/Reject/Return student opportunities. All buttons will be removed if disabled from the bottom of the documentation to prevent status changes of the documentation

Lab Access –

  • Manage: Disables/Enables the ability to create or edit labs and batches of labs in Manage Labs
  • Batch Edit: Disables/Enables the ability to Batch Edit batches of labs in Manage Labs
  • Add/Remove Students: Disables/Enables the ability to Modify Students in Manage Labs and in Edit on an individual lab. Also Disables/Enables the add/remove option from Lab Batches
  • Lab Requests: Disables/Enables the ability to accept/reject lab enrollment requests. Also Disables/Enables the link Manage Lab Requests
  • Review: Disables/Enables the ability to review student lab documentation in Manage Student Documentation as the option will be removed from the menu bar. If Disabled, this will disable Approve/Reject/Return as well
  • Approve/Reject/Return: Disables/Enables the ability to Approve/Reject/Return student labs. All buttons will be removed if disabled from the bottom of the documentation to prevent status changes of the documentation

Scenario Access –

  • Manage: Disables/Enables the ability to create or edit scenarios in Manage Scenarios
  • Templates: Disables/Enables the ability to Manage Scenario Templates from the menu bar
  • Add/Remove Students: Disables/Enables the ability to Modify Students in Manage Scenarios and in Edit/Create on an individual scenario
  • Review: Disables/Enables the Manage Student Documentation option in the menu bar. If Disabled, this will disable Approve/Reject/Return as well
  • Approve/Reject/Return: Disables/Enables the ability to Approve/Reject/Return student scenarios. Approve/Reject/Return tab will be removed from within the documentation. Instructors will be able to document and Save the documentation

Reports –

  • Removes access to all reports and the option from the menu bar

Form Access –

  • Manage: Disables/Enables Custom Creation of Forms Manage Forms. Can use already created forms from the School Admin when building Labs, Opportunities, and Scenarios

Clinical Site User Access –

  • Manage: Disables/Enables Editing and Creating of Clinical Site Users in Manage Clinical Site Users
  • Flag/Unflag: Disables the ability to flag or unflag a clinical site user in Manage Clinical Site Users
  • Login As: Disables/Enables the ability to Login As a Clinical Site User in Manage Clinical Site Users

Student Audit Logs

Have you ever wanted to view a students audit log? Like if they were ever flagged, clinicals, labs, and scenario events?

Now you can.

As a school administrator or instructor go to manage students in Platinum Planner and click View/Details, depending on role, and you will notice the tabs up top.

**Note: the tabs only appear if the user has ever been flagged or if they have been placed into a lab, opportunity or scenario. If they are new students you will not see those tabs.

Clinical Creation/Editing Updates

When creating clinicals you will notice when you set the Sign-up By Start Date and Sign-up By End Date there is a new field within the calendar selector.

You can add Time Restrictions like students can’t start signing up for shifts if it is before 06:00 hours or after 18:00 hours.
