Great news! The January 2026 updates from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) are now reflected in Platinum Planner for Veterinary Technician programs.
CVTEA is the accrediting body responsible for establishing educational standards for veterinary technician programs. Appendix G of the CVTEA Accreditation Policies and Procedures Manual outlines the Essential Skills that students must be able to perform to demonstrate competency for program completion and accreditation compliance. These skills encompass the core knowledge, technical abilities, and professional behaviors required of entry-level veterinary technicians.
The January 2026 revisions to Appendix G have been fully incorporated into Platinum Planner, ensuring that programs have immediate access to the most current guidance directly within the platform. This update allows faculty and administrators to align curricula, assessments, and documentation with the latest CVTEA expectations, supporting ongoing accreditation efforts and program consistency.
