Update on 2026 Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Standards

We want to keep you informed of important updates impacting Pharmacy Technician education and training programs, including the 2026 Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Standards.

The ASHP/ACPE Accreditation Standards for Pharmacy Technician Education and Training Programs were officially approved in January 2026 and published in February 2026. These updated standards reflect a more modernized, streamlined approach to pharmacy technician education, including a shift to a single program level, revised curriculum expectations, and an increased emphasis on hands-on competency and experiential readiness.

We are actively reviewing these updates and preparing enhancements to our skills and clinical experiential tracking tools to ensure full alignment with the 2026 standards.

In addition, the updated Model Curriculum for Pharmacy Technician Education and Training Programs is expected to be released in May 2026. Once available, our team will begin building and integrating the revised curriculum to support your program well in advance of the mandatory adoption deadline of January 1, 2027.
