EMS educators, we have made a recent addition to forms in Platinum Planner. An Affective Evaluation form was created for the Clinical and lab settings. The Affective Evaluation form plays a pivotal role in assessing a student's affective domain in healthcare education. Its importance lies in providing educators with a structured and comprehensive tool to measure and understand students' attitudes, values, and emotional competencies. By utilizing this form, educators can gain valuable insights into the learners' emotional intelligence, empathy levels, and interpersonal skills, which are integral aspects of effective healthcare practice.
The value of the Affective Evaluation form for educators is multifaceted. Firstly, it offers a standardized and objective means of evaluating the affective domain, enabling consistent assessment across students. This tool facilitates data-driven decision-making, allowing educators to identify strengths and areas for improvement in individual students or the overall cohort. Moreover, the form aids in tailoring instructional strategies to address specific affective domain needs, thereby enhancing the quality of education provided.
In terms of time efficiency, the Affective Evaluation form can indeed save educators valuable time.
Its structured format streamlines the assessment process, making it more efficient and less prone to subjective biases. Additionally, by providing a systematic approach to evaluating the affective domain, educators can quickly identify students who excel in these areas and those who may require additional support. This targeted approach can contribute to a more focused and personalized educational experience, ultimately benefitting both educators and students alike.
On the dashboard open the courses tab and select the “edit” button on the course you want to add the form to.
Open Platinum Planner find the class you would like to add the form to and select “edit”
Click on the forms tab and select the show all option above the grey bar. Find the form and select who the form will open under when documenting.
Remember to “SAVE” before exiting the edit feature.
Now the form should show under the active tab and will be ready for you to add to the lab days when you create them from the instructor role.
